Here goes an excellent combination flower routine to include in a stage show. It has got novelty, surprise plus touch of comedy, which will make the routine acceptable to any audience.
The performer displays a red silk handkerchief in his hand. While waving the silk he slowly rolls it up as a bundle in his left palm which he then closes into a fist. Next he picks up a long stem from the table with his right hand, which is found to have leaves, but no flower. He waves the stem like a magic wand around his left fist, then partly opening same, he touches the bundled up silk with the stem, brings it forward and there comes surprise- red silk is found to have changed into a red rose now sitting at the top of the stem! The performer smiles, goes to smell the flower and there the comedy takes place- the flower bends away obviously refusing to be ‘smelt’ by the performer! The performer makes fresh attempts to smell the flower but every time it bends away causing great fun and surprise to the audience!... looking very much offended the performer throws the stem without caring on the table while the audience definitely bursts into laughter!...
